Upsurge Studios East is looking for talented 3D Unreal Engine artists for games, VR/AR, simulation and virtual production projects using the Unreal Engine.

Upsurge Studios East is a new subsidiary established in Tokyo in collaboration with Upsurge Studios in Melbourne, Australia.

We offer attractive, multilingual workspaces for Japanese and foreign artists.

Due to the global pandemic, we initially did all of our work remotely, but now we have a new office based in Tokyo.

We are looking for people living in Japan as well as people outside of Japan who wish to move to Japan once the global pandemic settles down.

In both cases, a remote work environment is available. Please give us your portfolio and examples of past related work.

UE4 & Unity Technical Artist

Job Description Responsible for overall technical support to facilitate real-time rendering projects using UE4 and Unity (development of tools for production assistance/testing new software and techniques/review and improvement of the production pipeline/asset management).
Application Requirements Working experience in game development and workflow in UE4 & Unity *Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (C#, etc.) is welcome.

UE4 & Unity Creator

Job Description Responsible for all design work using game engines in real-time rendering projects using UE4 and Unity (Material/effects/asset creation in game engines).
Application Requirements Experience in 3DCG video production using UE4 & Unity
*Experience with Houdini Engine is welcome.

3DCG Modeler

Job Description Modeling of various assets such as backgrounds, characters, props, etc., including virtual production
Application Requirements Working experience with DCC tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, etc.

3DCG Animator

Job Description Character animation, camera work, layout, cut direction, etc.
Application Requirements Working experience with DCC tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Motion Builder, etc.

Rigging Artist

Job Description Rigging and setup of characters, vehicles, etc., and setup work for crowd shots
Application Requirements Working experience with DCC tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Motion Builder, etc.
Working experience with MAX Script, Python, MEL, etc.
